Summer Soiree at Mo*Vida
So! Last Thursday I attended my VERY FIRST fashion show at the faaaabulous Mo*Vida in London. The designers included.....
Chantal Gibbs-Jones:
The all about the cupcake range by Chantal Gibbs-Jones as pictured above showed an alternative print matched with a classic 50's silhouette. The designer had recently exhibited at Alternative Fashion Week and her designs were crisply produced and all adhered to the theme without being a slave to it. Nice work Chantal! (For more of her work, go to http://www.chantalgibbsjones.co.uk)
Leanne Ripley-Garrett:
Leannes designs showed elegant shapes with subtle yet flattering ruching detail. The potentially serious image of the collection was softened by a Bambi/Disney-esque theme for the models to strut to. Quirky yet suprisingly complementary.
My Fair Lady Lingerie:
Rae-Emily Smith's designs were funky and colourful with a hint of a somewhat playful Arabian influence
Kerry Knowles:
The final designer showcasing last Thursday was Kerry Knowles whose designs show a clear high fashion influence. Angular tailoring fit for both the menswear and womenswear were exhibited.
Overall the show was a fantastic representation of the talent this country is producing and on such a lovely summer evening! :)
